A coaxial cable assembly suitable for amateur radio fixed stations.
The cable is made by Fujikura.
▸Uses the popular 5D-SFA-LITE coaxial cable made by Fujikura Dia Cable.
▸SFA has less attenuation than FB, so if you are concerned about attenuation, you can expect an improvement.
The connectors are MP connectors on both sides, but one side is a detachable type. ▸High quality connectors are used on both sides. ▸Teflon is used as the insulator of the connector. ▸Phenol resin (Bakelite) and Teflon are used for the insulators of connectors, but in the 351MHz band of digital simple radio and UHF (430MHz band), the difference is noticeable and Teflon is superior. ▸The performance of a connector cannot be distinguished from its appearance, but can be determined by actually measuring SWR, etc. ▸The connectors used in this product have low SWR and low passing loss based on the results of measuring many domestic and overseas connectors. ▸The screw part uses metric screws.
About detachable connectors. ▸If the cable is 5D or less, there is a large difference in the outer diameter between the connector and the cable, and the connector may get in the way when wiring. (The outside diameter of the connector is approximately Φ19mm, the outside diameter of the 5D cable is approximately Φ8mm, and the difference is approximately 11mm) ▸With detachable connectors, the outside of the connector can be removed, so the difference in outside diameter with the cable can be reduced. (The outer diameter of the connector with the outside of the connector removed is approximately Φ12mm, the outer diameter of the 5D cable is approximately Φ8mm, and the difference is approximately 4mm) ▸The difference in outer diameter can be reduced from 11mm to 4mm, making wiring work easier. ▸It is also advantageous when it is necessary to make a hole in the wall for wiring. ▸SWR is slightly worse due to the more complex structure, but the difference is small. ▸When installing the tip of the connector, carefully clean not only the tip of the pin, but also the area around the base of the pin with alcohol, etc., and then tighten firmly. ▸ Dirt can cause short circuits, and insufficient tightening can worsen SWR. ▸The screw part uses metric screws.
Actual measurement data of SWR and passing loss is attached. Each product is affixed with a serial number, and after production, we measure and manage the SWR (S11) and passing loss (S21) using a VNA (vector network analyzer). ▸Actual measurement results of SWR and passing loss are attached to this product. ▸The SWR graph has frequency on the horizontal axis, and the graph has a wavy shape. ▸The fineness of these waves becomes finer in proportion to the length of the cable. ▸The position of the wave changes depending on the connector such as the antenna connected to the cable. ▸ Therefore, the SWR value at a certain frequency is affected by the equipment connected to the cable. ▸ Therefore, it is important that the value at the top of the wave in the graph is kept low.
