This Battery charger arrived in good condition despite some scrappy packaging. The power lead and the battery lead are very short. I wanted to lengthen the power lead and took the cover off to do so. The mains cable is small diameter, it has no earth lead and is retained in place by a simple knot. It is equipped with a plug that appears not to have a fuse or satisfactory finger protection. The case is made from thin pressed metal with metal dents forming the 4 feet. The mains cable appears to be soldered direct to the underside of the circuit board that sits about 10mm from the bare metal case. There is no insulation material to prevent the live connection contacting the un-earthed metal case. I am sure that this device does not measure up to the standards to allow it to be exported to the UK or EU. I will not use it until I have made it safe. The controls have Chinese labelling (No English) and do not appear to make any difference to how it operates.
