This leather is made from cow kip tanned with vegetable tannins and processed at a factory in Tokyo. After the surface of the leather is processed with foil, it is placed in a large drum called a taiko with water and rotated to shrink the leather and create a shrink layer on the surface. Foil processing gives the impression that it doesn't look like leather, but this leather is tanned and shrink processed to give it a leather-like finish.
